Blog Assignment 1

Brandin Mary Brosh
Email: bmb1002@jaguar1.usouthal.edu / brandinmb@gmail.com
Education: I graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College with an Associate’s degree last spring. I have chosen to come to the University of South Alabama to further my education and eventually obtain my Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I have chosen teaching as a profession because I feel that are not enough effective teachers in this world and I know that I could be one of the few. Children are my passion and I believe that education is vital for these children. Children are able to learn so much at such a young age and I want to be able to be a part of that experience.
Employment: I am currently working at Buffalo Wild Wings as a server just as a side job to help me get through school.
Personal: My name is Brandin Brosh. Though you may not be able to tell by the name I am actually female.  I have a boy’s name but it’s unique and I haven’t encountered another girl with the same name as me yet. I chose to come to South Alabama because it’s still close enough that I can go see family and have family come visit me as well. My parents are employed for Pilot Insurance Company in Mobile which makes it easier for me to see them which helps out a lot.  I have one real brother, Adam, a step-brother, Cody, and a step-sister, Carissa. I was born and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi and I love it there. It is definitely a small town minus the casinos, but it’s the only place that really feels like home. I just moved to Mobile the day before school started with my cousin and boyfriend. I like it so far except I think we have the worst road system ever. I am still trying to understand it.  The University is a lot different than community college so I am going to have to study extra hard to make As.
I am really looking forward to my next two years at South Alabama and am expecting to graduate in December of 2012.

  2. Brandin,

It was nice meeting you and your boyfriend yesterday. I remember when I transferred from a PRCC to South. It was definitely a huge change, but it isn't too hard to get used to. You are doing great so far so keep up the good work. If you need my help at all, I am here to help whenever you need it. Welcome to EDM 310!

  3. Hey! Did you have a class with my sister, Sarah Nell? I remember her mentioning your name, and like you said, it is a very unique name! This is also my first year at South! I'm glad you're liking Mobile! What grade would you like to teach?

  4. Jamie Lynn,
Did you go to Pearl River CC? I went to Perk! haha. Big Rivals! Also I read on your blog that you play soccer and want to be a coach .. Did you play soccer there as well? Justin played soccer for perk! It's such a small world. It was really nice meeting you as well and I will probably be needing your help A LOT! lol.
P.S. Are you the girl I met like twice already that has the same birthday as me?! haha. I was thinking it was you but wasn't sure!

    Mary Ashley,
I did have a class with your sister. We actually scheduled a class together this semester as well. I do not have a set grade level I would like to teach because I hope to be able to have a little bit of experience with all the different grade levels before I chose. As of now I really like the little ones though, because they are just too sweet! I am thinking kindergarten or first grade but only time will tell.

Such a small world isn't it guys?! Hope to see you both soon!

  5. Brandin,

I did go to Pearl River, and yes, they are HUGE rivals. hahah. Yes, I played soccer for two years there, and I was going to play at another university, but I tore my ACL. It really is a small world! Yes, we do have the same birthday, and I was thinking that was you the other day, but I didn't want to ask you again. So yeah, your boyfriend and I played against each other in intramurals last semester. Well it was nice meeting you again for the third time. Woo Hoo, our birthdays aren't too far away. By the way, I am always available for help and looking forward to helping you A LOT!

  6. Welcome to the world of educational blogging Brandin. It is great to read diverse ideas and opinions, and to work on expressing your own thoughts in public. You already know that I think that education is the most important work in an community. And I thank you for pursuing a career in this field.

  7. Brandin,

I didn't realize you were from Biloxi. I grew up in Orange Grove, just off Highway 49. My twin still lives over there. Small world isn't it?

    See you in math class.
